Design Build – TxDOT NEX I-35, San Antonio, TX

As a subconsultant, SE3 is responsible for the design and plans of the signing and pavement marking for this project in San Antonio, TX. The project covers about 4 miles of I-35 from I-410 South to I-410 North, including transitions. It involves adding three elevated express lanes in each direction of I-35, with two non-tolled lanes, one non-tolled HOV lane and direct connectors. The estimated construction cost is approximately $700M. As the signing and marking lead, SE3 coordinates closely with the bridge team since all COSS and OSB signs along the express lanes will be attached to the bridge structures.
