SE3 provided various engineering design services for preparing PS&E for the Dallas North Tollway 4th Lane Widening.
Improvements included the modification of the main lanes and ramps and the widening of the existing President George Bush Turnpike interchange direct connector bridge structures. We designed the relocation and electronic tolling of the existing DNT Main lanes and Direct Connectors entrance and exit of Park Boulevard (two ramps). The projects included the relocation of existing fiber optic cable trunklines and laterals, removal and addition of ITS elements, maintenance of temporary communications, and the operation of ITS and tolling elements. We provided removal plans detailing the limits and quantities, prepared drawings, specifications, and details for all signing and pavement markings, including overall temporary, interim, and final signing strategies and placement of signs outside contract limits. SE3 assisted in ITS design, including necessary ITS infrastructures such as CCTV camera towers, DMS structures, associated electrical systems, fiber optic communications cable, duct banks, and associated access vaults to connect the existing and relocated communications backbone and laterals.
