SE3 teamed with Wilson & Company and Radmacher Brothers Excavating Company to provide design services for this award-winning (DBIA – Mid American Region) interstate project. This project extended from the Grandview Road Bridge to the Kansas State Line. The project’s scope of improvements was to add a fifth lane to both the eastbound and westbound roadways, which now provides enhancement to the entrance / exit ramps, and local streets at the interchanges. SE3’s role was to prepare temporary erosion control plans, assist with the preparation of erosion control documents for permitting, and with roadway design services.

This was a design-build project that required the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and the erosion control plans to be completed before the highway improvements and widening plans were completed.  This portion of the work was among the first steps required for completion to allow the contractor to begin construction. SE3’s staff expedited this portion of the work where we used the survey to locate potential erosion control infrastructure and used the on-going plan updates to design the control measures, ensuring the project was finished on time and within the existing budget.
