SE3 was a subconsultant to Central Texas Mobility Constructors, a Webber and Texas Sterling joint venture. SE3 completed various tasks on the design/build project to help restore mobility to fast-growing Eastern Travis County, making it safer for drivers to travel in the corridor and providing critical connections to other area highways, including SH 130.
Project highlights included:
- The Manor Expressway project tripled the current capacity of US 290 East between US 183 and SH 130
- Manor Expressway, a 6.2-mile limited-access toll road with three lanes in each direction. It was constructed in an expanded median of US 290 and extended from US 183 to the east of Parmer Lane.
- US 290 was widened and remained non-tolled
- The project also contained a 5-mile shared-use path that will run along the Manor Expressway from the US 183 interchange to the east of SH 130
- A 10-foot wide path separated the road and allowed for safe pedestrian and bicycle travel in the Manor Expressway corridor
- Designed over 70 retaining walls along the 6-mile stretch corridor while working intricately with the construction managers in determining the location, size, and type of walls best suited for construction. Providing all retaining wall layouts, aesthetic details, and boring logs concisely while coordinating closely with the Geotech Engineer to ensure geotechnical investigation reports for each wall are submitted on time and with accuracy.
- Provided a quality assessment review for multiple disciplines, including roadway design, drainage, signing, and pavement markings
- Design and construction management support with a specific focus on toll collection facilities for electronic toll collection and related ITS infrastructure, including vehicle detection loops, violation enforcement systems, vehicle speed detection, and CCTV monitoring and the required ITS infrastructure, including fiber optic duct banks and related fiber and installation of the necessary networking equipment.
