The Route E Bridge project comprised the replacement of an existing structurally deficient bridge which included reconstruction of approximately 300 feet of pavement. The Route A Bridge project involved rehabilitating the existing bridge including approximately 50 feet of approach pavement.
SE3 was the project manager for the roadway design portion of this project and was responsible for the preparation of plans and specifications for the roadway plan/profile, typical sections, reference points, guardrails, erosion control, detour plan, cross sections, and signing and striping.
Complexities: Extracting information from very old existing plans that were illegible. Further, due to the rural locations, another complexity was determining a safe, usable detour route. SE3 was able to work with the surveyor to supplement information that was not understandable from the plans. We worked with MoDOT to set up safe and properly signed detour routes.
