SE3 was selected to provide comprehensive Engineering services for the study, design and construction of a new salt storage facility and related infrastructure on a 0.18-acre site on Busse Highway. Comprehensive SE3 services included:
- Site Programming to meet forecasted salt storage needs for the City
- Review of existing site for utilities, railroad proximity and other land uses for compatibility with City standards
- Working with Salt storage companies on various systems and equipment.
Design included:
- Paving and Drainage
- Salt Dome
- Lighting
- Water Main
- Fire Hydrant Relocation
- Fencing
- Landscape
- Access Planning with IDOT and the City
The team performed topographic survey and soil investigations for sound recommendations, and prepared PS&E (contract documents) for site improvements. Other services: permit compliance, utility research, bidding assistance, and construction engineering services (inspection of pavement, drainage, a salt dome, water main, fire hydrant relocation, fencing, landscape, and roadway access)
