Travis County hired SE3 to review the Traffic Impact Study and associated Transportation Plans for the Giga Tesla Plant east of SH-130 in Travis County.

Highlights of this project include:

  • 268-acre site, including four miles of new roadway construction, detention ponds, retention ponds, storm sewers, and roadway connections to SH 130 and FM 973.
  • Accelerated review schedule due to construction speed. This was a design-build project. Most of the roads were constructed the week after SE3 completed the review.
  • Reviewed Origin-Destination Study for the facility.
  • Reviewed all-new location roadway plans at the Tesla site, including Harold Green Extension (0.8 miles), FM 973 widening, River Road (1.0 miles), Bobcat Trail, and internal drives (1.9 miles). Reviews included geometric design, drainage design, traffic signals, geotechnical pavement design, erosion control, and signing and pavement marking. Reviewed multiple roadway plan sets on accelerated schedules due to the Design Build timeframe for construction.
  • Reviewed multiple Site Plans for compliance with Travis County criteria.
