The Millburn Bypass carries almost 17,000 cars to their destination daily. The Millburn Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As part of a team SE3 assisted in the preparation of final design plans (Phase II Engineering) for the realignment of US 45 Millburn Bypass from County Place to north of Independence Boulevard for a distance of approximately 1.5 miles.

The purpose of the project was to address existing and future capacity, mobility, safety, and operational deficiencies associated with the existing US Route 45 which traverses the Millburn Historic District. The proposed plan provided two lanes of traffic in each direction separated by a median along with auxiliary turn lanes at intersections. A new signalized intersection was provided at the intersection of US 45 Bypass and Grass Lake Road.

SE3 was responsible for preparing the drainage plans for the entire project. Three detention basins were proposed to meet Lake County Stormwater management requirements. SE3 prepared the hydraulic analysis for the proposed storm sewers. SE3 met the project requirements, budget, and the project schedule.
