Brian Scifers, P.E.

Brian Scifers is a Vice President at SE3 and an accomplished Transportation Engineer. He is experienced in all facets of project development, from pre-design studies through plan implementation and construction, with a specialization in traffic engineering, interacting with or on behalf of government officials and the public. He has designed over 200 traffic signal installations, including numerous intersection design studies and bus rapid transit, and provided design oversight of fiber optic backbone communications. His depth of experience encompasses preliminary engineering and design of arterial and freeway projects as well. Beyond studies and design, his work includes traffic operations management, regional program development, and federal funding applications on a local government level.

Brian actively participates in American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) committees, including assisting in developing a revised Traffic Signal Design Guide for the District One Region of the Illinois Department of Transportation. He graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 1996 and has given back to UIC as a volunteer judge for the Senior Design Expo. Brian additionally gives back to the profession as a mentor to staff engineers abroad through the Institute of Transportation Engineers – Chicago Chapter Mentorship program.
